A Reason, A Season or A Lifetime

Thinking back, I could only smile and could not help but agree to this poem. And all I can say is that I am thankful that I have been thru each and every pain and sacrifices in the past because these people brought me where and to whom I am with right now. And for that, I am thankful for the reasons, and the seasons of my life coz now, I am with my LIFETIME :)

People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime.  When you figure out which it is, you know exactly what to do.
When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed outwardly or inwardly.  They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally, or spiritually.  They may seem like a godsend, and they are.  They are there for the reason you need them to be.  Then, without any wrong doing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end.  Sometimes they die.  Sometimes they walk away.  Sometimes they act up or out and force you to take a stand.  What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled;  their work is done.  The prayer you sent up has been answered and it is now time to move on.

When people come into your life for a SEASON, it is because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn.  They may bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh.  They may teach you something you have never done.  They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.  Believe it!  It is real!  But, only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons; those things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation.  Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person/people (anyway);  and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life.  It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

And my Moms'reply to my Dad

  THE SONG OF RUTH
Wherever you go, I shall go
Wherever you live, so shall I live
Your people will be my people
And your God will be my God.

Wherever you die, I shall die
And so shall I be buried beside you
          We will be together forever
And our love will be the gift of our
          lives.
My deareast Tom, this Song of Ruth is for you to remember me always. I love you. Mommy.
Thanks,

IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD.....

IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD

In the Adoration Chapel
     A few hours ago
We all sat in quiet mein
     Each one to his thoughts.
Every thought,
     Every wish,
     A prayer.
Every fervent wish
     Coming from the heart
     A powerful prayer
For prayers from the
     Heart, more than
     In the rational mind
Are what transcends
     What is Divine
     And what is human

And as I glanced
     At the woman
     Seated beside me
     Whose name is GUIA
I saw the radiance
     Of one who is
     Serenely at
     Peace
     In the Presence
Of her CREATOR
     With her eyes
Closed, I saw her
     Communicating
     With GOD ALMIGHTY
Not asking for more years
      For her very
      Frail health
      Nor for her very
      Fragile life
But asking for blessings
      For all those she love
      Her family, her friends
      The barefoot street children
      The sick, the needy
And all those who have less
      In life

I could not resist
      But to hold her hand
And as I did,
I felt how thin and bony she has
      Become
The ravages of her surgery
      And confinement for
      Almost two years
All but made her a shadow
      Of her previous self
So bouncy, running
      The spiral stairs,
      Of her house
      In Alabang

She no longer has
      The house in
      Alabang
      Neither has she the
      Spiral staircase to run
      About
But she now enjoys
      The fresh air
      And the ambiance of
      Sta. Rosa

But she now walks
      With a cane
And when outside of
      The house
      We have to let her
      Hold on to an arm
But then we could feel, see
      How jolted she would be
      Of an impending encounter
      With anyone
Lest she fall and never rise
      Again

With her prayers done
      We all stood up
To genuflect in front of
      The BODY OF CHRIST
 And ask for His blessings
       Not only for us,
       But for all of
       Mankind

And as I stood to walk
      Her out,
I couldn't resist
      The surging emotions
Of how much I love
     This little frail woman
Bundled in double jackets
     Because of the evening chill
In order to meet
     What is Divine

And as I reached for
     Her
 Tears welled and flowed
     From my eyes
I kissed her forehead,
     And asked,
Mommy, please stay with us
     For we could not bear
Not having you

I hugged this woman
      Whose name is GUiA
And in the presence of GOD,
      Begged her
      Begged GOD
For more years
      Together.
For if she would go,
Then I would also go

My Darling Guia,
I love you so very much.
Please forgive me.

EVERLASTING THANKS AND GRATITUDE...dedicated to my mom

EVERLASTING THANKS AND GRATITUDE

How can I convey,
     Into words
The deep-set feelings
     I have
The unfathomable
     Happiness
The Eternal Gratitude
    For you to Love Me
As unconditional
     As ever
Inspite of all my
     Sins
     And transgressions
That betrayed
     Your love
For your fidelity
     Not only transcended
     The tests of
     Time
That for almost
    Half a Century
You have been
    Steadfast with me
And being not only
    The love of my life
    The pillar of the home
That binds the
     Family
You, my Dear
     Are the paragon
     The model
     Of what true love
     And unparalleled
     Sacrifice can be
As the name Guia
     My guide
Shall always be
    With my everlasting
Thanks, my joy and
    My gratitiude

Little Lady ....my Dad wrote this for my sister

LITTLE LADY

For twelve long years
   We waited
For our next child
    Four miscarriages
After the eldest
    Did not discourage us
To ask for even just one more
    Pray, we did
Not only in Churches
    But penitence we did
In Curcillo houses
    All with the ardent wish
That we be given
    Another darling

She came at a time
    When we were not ready
For the gift of the Divine,
Came to us as a premature
    Child
Skin very pink and almost
    Translucent
You could see the veins
    Threading through her body
In the incubator she stayed
    Days and nights
While her Mom and Dad would
    Always pass by
A glimpse of the two pound
Bundle of joy.  A gift from GOD
And a gift she truly was
    Always obedient, always
Demure, just like her Mom
   She was quiet but
Silently strong
    This premature child
Has grown to be a
    Lovely lady
Now, preparing to face
    The world
To live a life of her own.
    But through the years,
Has always been a very loving
    Daughter
A very loving sister to her Ate
And a very loving Ninang to her
    Nephew and Niece
And to her other
    Brothers, too.
Premature girl,
    I know not where you
Get your strength
   For you have remained quaint
And little and small through all
    The years
But no matter what,
    you will
Always remain, our little SHELPOT.
   We all love you, Michelle.

Little Chinky eyes...a poem my dad made for me

LITTLE CHINKY EYES

In a faraway place
     In the South
Where millions of
     Coco trees abound
In a place close to the
     Deep blue ocean
     And Dalahican Beach
Within the foothills
Of fabled Mt. Banahaw
     Said to be where spirits
And folklore gods resided
     Was born,
My eldest daughter
     Round as a ball
Spunky in her ways
     Survivor like her Dad
She grew
     In times of want
And in times of plenty
     All, to pass through
Fire and forge
     Her indomitable spirit
To go against all odds
     That in her little
Way,  she would
     Leave her indelible mark
On how to live
The way she would like to
A darling child to me
     Naughty and with courage
But caring and kind
     Just like her mother
To those who have less...
     The mark of my daughter
Who has little Chinky Eyes
Maritoni

And Her name is GUIA ...my Dad wrote this for my Mom

AND HER NAME IS GUIA...

From the vacuum that
     Was space
The Big Bang came
     Creating the Universe
That burst forth with
     Galaxies, the stars, the planets
And in the little corner
     Of Infinity
From the atoms
     Created by the Bang
Emerged this place we
     Call Home
And from this Home,
     Later called Earth
A procession of generations,
     Men and women
Till at one Moment in Time
     From the seeds of creation
And from the touch of
     What is Divine
By natural selection
     The grain and the chaff
From what is base and what
     Is golden
From what is most treasured
     And what is not
Came one, whose Love
      Is truly Mine
And her name is GUIA
